Da’Veonce Washington 

Also known as “Dee”, “Drummerdee” Born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1996. Drumming since 1999.  Da’Veonce moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 2013.

Moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 2013. After living in Port Huron, Michigan, his mother, Dee moved to GR after finding out that East Kentwood High School would be a better educational and musical choice for him.  Da’Veonce joined the HS Jazz band, the concert band, and all things that had anything to do with music and creative arts. In Da’Veonce’s sophomore year, Dee was sent to Jazz Camp at Western Michigan University by Dr. James Sawyer to study Keith Hall’s Summer Drum Institute. Asamu Johnson and the associates of the Blues. Joining the Asamu Johnson Band at the age of 18 opened many exciting doors for Da’Veonce, significantly shaping his musical career. In both 2015 and 2016, the Blues band earned the distinguished title of West Michigan's best blues band at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) held in Grand Rapids. This achievement took the band all the way to Memphis, Tennessee, an event organized and founded by the West Michigan Blues Society. At the IBC, the band competed against over 900 other bands from around the world, vying for major opportunities and record deals. Harper and The Midwest Kind 2017-2019

In 2017, Daveonce played over 254 shows on his first tour with Harper. He began performing at major shows and festivals for the first time, including the Heritage Blues Festival (Peoria, Illinois), Antones (Austin, Texas), Mammoth Festival, Bluesapalooza (Mammoth Lakes, California), Blues Festival (Schöppingen, Germany), and many more. The Birth of Da’Veonce and DaFunk Gang. Da’Veonce hosted a residency at a local restaurant and live music venue, previously named Turnstiles, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Daveonce formed the group with the intent of making an original funk album in collaboration with his local and international musician friends.
